I am Linda's husband, Alan. I started judging Kansas City BBQ Society, North Carolina BBQ Society and Florida BBQ Association in 2012. I have judged over 100 competitions and am a Master KCBS judge.
My first competition was in Cumming GA. I finished 2 or 3 in pork out of about 25 teams. Then was fairly successful until March. At one time I was #1 in the USA in ribs and # 4 in chicken.
I qualified and was invited to KCBS World Invitational in Shawnee OK.
I had not cooked much in the last 6 months due to health issues. I was happy to finish and not to finish last.
Teaching for the North Carolina BBQ Society. Love Prairie Fresh Ribs.
I have had good success with their ribs and pork.
Thanks to my wife and her business for their support of my BBQ Team.
2021 was to be my only year competing. In March 2021, I was competing in Jacksonville FL. When setting up, my trailer tongue slid down my left leg. The accident led to major health problems ending my 2021 competition year.
I did finish 1st Ribs and 4th Chicken making me the Grand Champion
Now I am back for 2022.
